ahhhh memories from my childhood on a cd. this was my first experience with amazon.com and i was so impressed as to how ez it was to order and how quickly the cd came.
I'm near fifty, and grew up listening to Mitch Miller at Christmas on reel-to-reel tape. I got this CD because it had one song in particular that I remembered and taught my children ("Must Be Santa"), but when I played the CD, the memories came flooding back. These are really great Christmas sing-alongs, with no self-aggrandizing vocal improvisations to detract from the music - just beautiful, timeless, richly-textured arrangements that you can't help but join in singing.
In the spirit of Christmas and the talents of the Mitch Miller gang, this collection of Christmas songs will provide an uplifting experience surely to make the season bright. You will play these songs over and over. Miller's vocals are always pleasant, clear, and (let's face it) fun.
I remember this as an album from my childhood and loved to sing along. I bought it to use with the children at my preschool, they love to sing. The lyrics are included with the CD, the singing is clear and at a perfect tempo for all to enjoy. Warm up the cocoa, gather the family and sing- it's a great way to reconnect.
I had to get this for my dad when I saw it available on CD. Of course, he still has his album from when he was a kid- but I figured this would be more convenient for him to listen to, plus he can take it in his car and my mom doesn't have to hear it. He was VERY happy when he opened it on Christmas Eve and immediately threw it in the CD player, and my 2 young kids really enjoyed it as well. :)
